100 Hopes for Georgia


Earlier this fall, participants at every district set up meeting in Georgia completed a short, handwritten survey about the possibility of unification of the North and South Georgia Annual Conferences.

We received hundreds and hundreds of responses. This month, as we focus on Thanksgiving, we share some of the hopes and excitement of Georgia United Methodists deep in this season of study and discernment.

  • What better way to show those in this state our seriousness about love and grace for all than to be unified?
  • Strengthening both conferences by using the best practices of both conferences.
  • This is a way to publicly practice unity.
  • The possibility of working together on issues that affect the whole state.
  • Opportunities to collaborate, share, streamline, support, and fund ministry together.
  • Unity (being one in the spirit) to reach more of Georgia for Christ.
  • Better stewardship, less duplication, more ability to impact the lives of Georgians.
