Announcing Noah Seelhammer as the 2025 Mary Alice Boyd Memorial Scholarship Recipient
The Mary Alice Boyd Memorial Scholarship is honored to announce Noah Seelhammer as the recipient of this year’s scholarship. Noah, a distinguished graduate with honors from Union Grove High School on May 17th, embodies the spirit of academic excellence, leadership, and service that the scholarship represents.
Noah’s dedication and diverse talents shone brightly throughout his time at Union Grove. He was a vital member of the Drumline and Symphonic 1 Band for all four years, showcasing his commitment to the performing arts. His athletic prowess was evident through his participation in the Varsity Tennis Team for two years and the JV Tennis Team for three years, culminating in UG Varsity Tennis Team Region Championships in both 2024 and 2025, and leading his team to the GHSA Sweet 16 in the same years.
Beyond his musical and athletic achievements, Noah excelled academically and in extracurricular leadership roles. He served as Vice President of both the National Science Honor Society and Skills USA, and was an active member of Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society, Rho Kappa History Honor Society, and the Beta Club. He also participated in Youth Leadership Henry, demonstrating his commitment to community involvement.
Noah’s passion for STEM is particularly noteworthy. He achieved remarkable success in science and engineering, becoming a Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair Finalist in 2023 for his project in Sustainable Materials and Design – Solar Efficiency. He was also a Georgia Science and Engineering Fair Finalist in the same category in both 2022 and 2023. His skills extended to technical fields, earning him multiple accolades at the SkillsUSA State Competition, including 2nd place in Technical Drafting (2024), 3rd place in Technical Drafting (2023), 1st place in the Technical Drafting Test (2025), and 2nd place in Quiz Bowl (2025).
His academic excellence was further recognized through the UGA Merit Award and his designation as an AP Scholar with Distinction, consistently earning a place on the All A Honor Roll. Noah was also a District GHP Nominee in both 2022 and 2023. Adding to his impressive list of accomplishments, Noah’s commitment to service and leadership is evident in his achievement of the rank of Eagle Scout.
This fall, Noah will embark on an exciting new chapter as he attends Georgia Institute of Technology to pursue a major in Aerospace Engineering. The Mary Alice Boyd Memorial Scholarship will undoubtedly provide valuable support as he pursues his academic and professional aspirations in this challenging and innovative field.
